Special leave petition mean you take a permission to be heard by supreme court against any high court's order or tribunal's orders. Usually if high court decide any case mean thats final. But if there is existence of any constitutional issues or legal issue which is clarified before supreme court of india mean at this situation supreme court will permit you to this petition. Directly you can't bring any issues before supreme court. Thats SLP under article 136 of our constitution

Writ petition mean if your rights affected by any individual or govt mean directly you can invoke the extra ordinary jurisdiction of your high court or supreme court under article 226 or 32.
