sir,

my father has earned a property and the property is on his name.recently my father expired and i want to transfer the property name to my mother.what is the procedure and cost.we live in hyderabad and our property cost as per market value is 2 crores. i dont know the governament value of the property.

You can execute a release deed in favour of your mother. The stamp duty will be 1%.

Being a legal heirs of your deceased father you are required to relinquish your rights thru., regd., rights relinquish deed in favour of your mother.

You can execute a release deed in favour of your mother releasing your share in the property. Stamp duty will be about 4%. For Settlement Deed it is 1%.You can check the same with the concerned registrar's office. Additionally you have to pay registration fees 1%.

The stamp duty in Hyderabad for a relinquishment deed is 3.5%. Rates have been revised recently. However, since the property is still in the name of your father, it has to be mutated first in your name before relinquishing.

You have to collect succession certificate and legal heir certificate to transfer the property.

In Tamil nadu,
Stamp duty is 1% of property value subject to maximum of Rs.10,000/-
Registration fee is also 1% but max is Rs.2,000/-
