Whether any construction has already come in any side of your plot? Is there any one very well known to you residing there?
How long are you going to be abroad?

The law is there to keep this property against the forceful occupiers else there would not have been any vacant space left in this country.

In any case if you are loosing sleep over this you can post a security man in the place.

Construct wall in all four sides and lock the entrance.

You can entrust the work of informing you about illegal occupancy of plot to you to security / private detective agency / some close relative / friend.

Dear Deepa Kalyani,

A hutment can be put by encroachers without getting any permission/approval of any plan to construct. They cannot be easily evicted. Therefore, your giving the proposed letter to the Municipal Authorities would be of no help.

sir then what is the way left now...!?
Anirudh (Expert) 16 October 2014
You have to compulsorily make friends / acquaintance with the neighbour who has built up a house near your plot, request them to have an eye over your plot, give them your email-id to exchange information, take their contact number, phone them up once in a quarter or so from abroad and keep on ascertaining the ground position. Only in this manner you can ensure that there is no encroachment on your plot.

Alternately, you can ask some of your relatives like brother, cousin etc., to periodically (once in three months for sure) visit the place and to see for themselves whether the plot is free from encroachment.

You seem to look for difficult options when earlier option is available.
Deepa kalyani (Querist) 17 October 2014
Difficult options means what !?... Are there any other legal provisions...
