Yes you can always give Power of Attorney to some relative to appear and conduct the court case proceedings in your absence along with your Advocate appearing on your behalf with another power of attorney, namely your Vakalatnama. The video conferencing is allowed in many courts on the request of parties, check it out with your assigned advocate about this in the court where your case is pending.

Even in Criminal Cases a Power of Attorney can file or represent the case and specially plead and supported by documents. Refer the Orders of Honorable Supreme Court judges H.J. Muthopathyay and Bonsle

You have not posted the particulars of the case. Is it a civil or a criminal case?
Vijay Raj Mahajan (Expert) 11 March 2018
In criminal complaint cases exemption from personal appearance sought and allowed by trial court for accused working and living outside India on the condition to be represented by power of attorney, usually their counsel holding their Vakaltnamma. I have myself got many such orders for my clients involved in criminal prosecution. Presence of accused necessary at the time of charge stage or for recording their statement u/s 313 Cr. P. C.
