Living seperately for 15 years does not change the Relationship as well as the Rights

Whether mother is alive, how the property was in her name whether inherited ancestral or purchased in mothers name ? facts not clear, consult local lawyer and show him all the documents.

In mother's property, her children have equal share after her demise.

HUF property is different from that of mother's own property. Mother's own property cannot be HUF and the same can be disposed by her at her sweet will in any manner she may desire. In HUF property the brother will have a coparcener right. First ascertain what you want to ask and then post the query without confusion.
