Damage to the property due to root top seepage

(Querist) 01 April 2015 This query is : Resolved
I am staying on the top floor of my society and face the seepage problem during rainy season. Due to this entire house walls are damaged and my complaint to the society committee has gone un replied.
Can I get the repair work done and claim the reimbursement from the society? Please guide.

(Note : every person in the society is facing the seepage & leakage problem)

Read the bye-laws of the Society to find out if there are any clauses to address such issues.

The co-operative housing society bye laws are same for all the society right? or will every society will have their own bye laws?

you should issue legal notice to society to repair the leakage . if society fails to repair the leakages it amounts to deficiency in service and you can drag society to consumer forum . society would be directed to carry out necessary repairs

I have decided to do the tiling work in this month as the condition of the walls are too bad. I have given a letter to the society seeking NOC and also informed them that claim will be made from my end towards the part exps. WIll this suffice?
