THE ATOMIC ENERGY ACT, 1962 ACT NO. 33 OF 1962 [15th September, 1962.] An Act to provide for the development, control and use of atomic energy for the welfare of the people of India and for other peaceful purposes and for matters connected therewith. 1. Short title, extent and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Atomic Energy Act, 1962. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such date 1* as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
