Section : Short title, extent and commencement.

THE INFANT MILK SUBSTITUTES, FEEDING BOTTLES AND INFANT FOODS(REGULATION OF PRODUCTION, SUPPLY AND DISTRIBUTION) ACT, 1992 ACT NO. 41 OF 1992 [29th December, 1992.] An Act to provide for the regulation of production, supply and distribution of infant milk substitutes, feeding bottles and infant foods with a view to the protection and promotion of breastfeeding and ensuring the proper use of infant foods and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Forty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1. Short title, extent and commencement. (1) This Act may be called the Infant Milk Substitutes, Feeding Bottles and Infant Foods (Regulation of Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 1992. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
