THE JAWAHARLAL NEHRU UNIVERSITY ACT, 1966 ACT NO. 53 OF 1966 [22nd December, 1966]. An Act to establish and incorporate a university in Delhi. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Seventeenth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title and commencement. (1) This Act may be called the Jawaharlal Nehru University Act, 1966. (2) It shall come into force on such date 1* as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
