Section : Resistance to the taking of property by the lawful authority of apublic servant.

183. Resistance to the taking of property by the lawful authorityof a public servant.--Whoever offers any resistance to the taking ofany property by the lawful authority of any public servant, knowing orhaving reason to believe that he is such public servant, shall bepunished with imprisonment of either description for a term which mayextend to six months, or with fine which may extend to one thousandrupees, or with both.
