Section : Punishment for false declaration.

21. Punishment for false declaration.-If any citizen of India for the purpose of procuring a marriage, intentionally- (a) where a declaration is required by this Act, makes a false declaration ; or (b) where a notice or certificate is required by this Act, signs false notice or certificate; he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years and shall also be liable to fine.
