353. Assault or criminal force to deter public servant fromdischarge of his duty.--Whoever assaults or uses criminal force to anyperson being a public servant in the execution of his duty as suchpublic servant, or with intent to prevent or deter that person fromdischarging his duty as such public servant, or in consequence ofanything done or attempted to be done by such person to the lawfuldischarge of his duty as such public servant, shall be punished withimprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to twoyears, or with fine, or with both.180
