NOT AT ALL ADVISABLE. EXISTING PROVISIONS ARE WELL THOUGHT OF AND TIME TESTED.

India is a country of Rishies, Sadhus. Ultimate aim is to attain Mukti. and we have to remember that children are gift of Almighty, and we have no right to terminate him or her.

yes,it should be sufficiently amended and if termination cannot be permitted in that the entire responsibility should be fixed by HC for nurturing the child in accordance with the status of person

Freedom of this choice should be left to the parents, especially the expectant mother. Modern facilities help us to find the health condition of a child in the womb and it does'nt matter whether it is 20 weeks or more so long as the doctor and the expectant mother decide on the issue after due consideration. The State will not come for the help of the family after a baby is born with serious health problems.

if the the child has any deformity or desease than the parents alone have to bear it,whether in terms of finance for treatment or otherwise.so, the parents should b given a chance to choose among the options.

If to permit termination of pregnency beyound 20 weeks the ratio of abortion goes high and it could effect the health of women.

i object for such amendments amounting to mercy killing. i ask the people supporting such amendments in MTP Act that who will take responsibility that the Act will not be misused in future.

such in human act should not be allowed. it amounts to mercy killing, which our laws or culture does not permit. by amending the Act 1971, the law will encourage the persons those does not want female in their womb. hence i strongly and flatly say "No" to any such amendment. even foetus

if the child to be born cannnot live a normal life and cannot be supported by anyone(except by its parents).then MTP should be allowed.

Medical termination of Pregnancy is ethical so long as it doesnt affect a fully developed child in the mother's womb and it is only the foetus which gets terminated. But after 20 weeks terminating pregnancy would be strictly unethical as it goes beyond the Right to Life!!!

as per the news in papers, i m surprised as to how the people have become in human and coming forward in support of the parents in killing a life having a doubt of least abnormality. i strongly opposed to such move for seeking amendments in the MTP Act 1971 (Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act)

In India cases of forced termination of pregnancy are more that voluntary termination, when it comes to terminations after 20th week. This Las curbs such atrocities against women in general, no exception can be made, which may be taken as a loop hole for further misuse, which may make the law itself useless.

Not necessary to amend the MTP Act. In the instant case we cannot predict that the child would be born with permanant heart problem. During the course of its growth it may be soldved by nature or with due medical attention and treatment can be cured. Just for a since case the act need not be amended

if that amendment made then there occurs many termination of the child in mothers womb and increase curealty on womens as it will become the right of every person to make that pregnancy terminated

not at all it amounts to mercy killing as the fetus has life and our laws as well culture do not allow being the act of killing is in-human.

In a country which is incapable providing basic neccessity to its citizen, and in rare circumstances like the one on TV, the person who is to bear the child should be given the power to decide.

yes. but strictly only in the cases where foetus suffers from a ailment which can not be cured.

Inspite of technology and science so developed in this era, if any default pregnancy taking place, it can rectified with new developement of science. But not killing pregnant child.

i am afraid that there might be a possibility of misuse of the law if amended. however, discretion be granted to the parents 'in rare cases'.

Not only the parents, who were the persons to be suffered in future, the child too. There must be an amendment, to establish an exception clause, that to terminate the pregnancy in genuine cases diagnosed by doctors, based on the opinion by leading gynecologists.

Yes. The parents based on the medical advise should be given the option to terminate.

Termination of pregnancy beyond 20 weeks will give rise the ratio of termination of pregnancy secondly it is harmful for the health of the mother/leady to terminate the baby so late and thirdly it will give rise in the rate of termination of baby girl in India.

It must be amended to 3 months i.e., 60 days subject to medical advise in appropriate cases.

If the foetus is diagonised as defective by some or other factors then the parents must be given a chance to consider whether to bring it into this world or not. After all it the parents who gonna suffer with the illfated child then the option should be left to them alone.

I feel that section 3 of the MTP Act should be amended to permit termination of pregnancy in appropriate cases. There can be a panel of doctors appointed to examine the case and their opinion can be given importance to.
