The Reserve Bank today asked regional rural banks to strictly adhere to rules regarding nominations in savings accounts, even if the customers do not ask for it.The Reserve Bank asked RRBs to strictly comply with the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, and the Banking Companies (Nomination) Rules, 1985 regarding nomination, and devise a proper system of acknowledging the receipt of the completed nomination, cancellation or variation of the nominations .

" Such acknowledgment should be given to all the customers irrespective of whether the same is demanded by the customers or not,"the RBI said in a statement issued here today.
