The Union Labour & Employment Minister Shri Mallikarjun Kharge has informed the Rajya Sabha that Government has ratified 4 ILO core conventions, namely, Forced Labour Convention (No.29), Abolition of Forced Labour Convention (No.105), Equal Remuneration Convention (No.100) and Discrimination (Employment Occupation) Convention (No.111). The Government has not ratified 4 ILO Core Conventions C-87 concerning Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organise, C-98 concerning Right to Organise and Collective Bargaining,C-138 concerning Minimum Age and C-182 concerning Worst Forms of Child Labour.

 

There is no proposal under consideration to bring legislation for an Industrial Relation Commission.

 

The Minister was replying to a written question whether India has ratified all International Labour Organisation (ILO)core labour standard; and whether Government has any proposal to bring legislation for an Industrial Relation Commission as it is in Australia and other developed countries?
