Haryana Police detained a metropolitan magistrate of Delhi and arrested three others, including an alleged prostitute, after booking them under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act, police said Thursday.
According to the police, Raj Kumar Aggarwal, a metropolitan magistrate in Delhi’s Tees Hazari courts, came to Panipat with his friends, Subhash and Shamsher Singh. The trio had allegedly picked up a prostitute on the way Wednesday night and brought her to Subhash’s rented accommodation in Punjabi Colony in Samlakha area of Panipat town.

Sensing something suspicious, residents of the area informed the police, who raided the house and caught them red-handed.

“We had got a tip-off and on raiding the premises, we found them in a compromising position,” Satpal Malik, the case’s investigating officer, said Thursday, adding they had sought permission from Delhi High Court to formally arrest the magistrate.

He said police were trying to ascertain the identity of call girl and other people involved in this racket. Subhash is a resident of the state’s Sonepat town while his relative Shamsher is from Hisar town.
