A local court awarded seven-years imprisonment and a cash penalty of Rs 2.05 lakh to stamp scam convict Abdul Karim Telgi in two cases of cheating.



Chief Judicial Magistrate Urmila Varma awarded seven years imprisonment to Telgi in case under section 69B of the Indian Stamp Act, section 20 of the Rajasthan Stamp Act and sections 420 and 120B of the Indian Penal Code. 



The court also slapped up on him a cash penalty of Rs 50,000 each for crime committed by him under the above four sections.



Besides this, the court also awarded him six month Jail term and a cash penalty of Rs 5,000 in another case of cheating people on the pretext of sending them abroad for employment. 



Telgi was brought here three days ago on a transit warrant for trial in the above cases. The charges were framed by the court. Telgi confessed his crime and paved way for conclusion of the trial briefly.
