SC dismisses RIL petition

The Supreme Court dismissed a petition filed by Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) belonging to Mukesh Ambani Group seeking to restrain Maharashtra government from recovering the dues of Navi Mumbai SEZ project.



The bench of the Supreme Court refused to pass orders as prayed for by Anand Jain, who represented RIL.



Mukesh Ambani had approached the Supreme Court on the grounds that the company has not been able to acquire the total land earmarked for the SEZ project as negotiations with the land owners mainly farmers has not been through till date.
