The Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan on Friday said the decision of Supreme Court judges to make their assets public was entirely "unanimous".

"We are strictly following the 1997 resolution under which the disclosures were not to be made public. Now, because of changed circumstances, we will put the details on the website," CJI said while interacting with reporters in New Delhi on Saturday.

Balakrishnan said that apex court judges have been following the 1997 resolution and they have been submitting statements of their On being asked whether any advisory would be send to the High Court judges to make their assets public, the Chief Justice said the apex court doesn't have administrative control over the High Court.

He said even the 1997 resolution was not adopted by many of the High Courts.

However, the CJI said,"I think that some of the High Courts will follow us."

Replying to a query of time frame within which the information pertaining to assets would be put on the website, Balakrishnan said it would take some time as the statements of the assets are to be updated.

"We have not taken any decision about the format which will be applied for declaring the assets. It will take some time. The whole procedure would take a month or more," he replied.

When asked whether the queries would be entertained on the issue, the CJI said "We have not decided any thing on the issues". assets to the CJI.
