Govt revives bill to protect women at workplace

The brouhaha over the Ruchika malhotra molestation case has given a fresh lease of life to a draft bill drawn up to protect working women. The ministry of women and child development has set up an interministerial Committee to fine tune the bill before sending it for cabinet approval.

 The ministry is likely to olace the draft bill on protection of women against sexual harrassment at workplace before the cabinet by the end of this month and in the parilament in the budget session.

 the bill aims to protect women against harrassment by collegues, bosses , subordinates,visitors and guests on the office preminses.It will also cover students,research scholors besides women workers in the unorgainsed sector.
