Full bench of Karnataka High Court to hear five Independent MLAs disqualified case

 

The newly constituted full bench of Karnataka High Court will hear the petition filed by five Independent MLAs who were disqualified by Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker K G Boppaiah for anti party activities. The new Bench comprising Justice Mohan Shanthanagouder, Justice Abdul Nazir and Justice A S Bopanna will take up the case today morning. Earlier the Division bench, headed by Chief Justice J S Khehar, had delivered split verdict on a case filed by 11 BJP rebel MLAs and had stated that the petitions filed by the five independent MLAs will be heard by a new division bench on November Two. Justice V G Sabhahit, third judge of the High Court, had on October 29, upheld the disqualification of 11 BJP MLAs by Speaker K G Bopaiah for anti party activities under para 2(1)A of 10th Schedule of the Constitution, also called as anti defection law.
