Blasts Accused sent To Judicial Custody 16 Jan 2009, 0011 hrs IST, TNN new delhi : Suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorist Mohammad Hakim, arrested in connection with September 13 serial blasts, was sent to 14-day judicial custody by a trial court on Thursday. Mohammad Hakim has been accused of providing logistical support in carrying out the blasts in the Capital. On January 2, he was arrested by Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad. Produced before additional chief metropolitan magistrate Sanjay Bansal, Hakim was sent to judicial custody till January 29. Mohammed Hakim, a final year student of a private engineering college in Lucknow, had a prize of Rs 1 lakh on his head. Hakim was produced in court after completion of his custodial interrogation by Delhi police for 10 days. The accused had allegedly supplied splinters and ball bearings used in the bombs to maximize the casualties. He was sent to 14 days' judicial custody in three cases registered in Karol Bagh, Greater Kailash I and Connaught Place police stations. Delhi police were granted transit remand of Hakim on January 3 by a Lucknow court in connection with the case. A day before, Hakim was arrested by the Anti-Terrorism Squad of Uttar Pradesh. Hakim, who has allegedly disclosed complicity of accused Ariz, Shadab Beg and Asadulla in the blasts, is also wanted by the Maharashtra Police in connection with a case under the Arms Act and the Bombay Police Act, the UP ATS had said. Delhi Police had recently filed three chargesheets in the serial blasts that took place in Karol Bagh, Connaught Place and Greater Kailash I. Twenty six persons were killed and several others were injured in the serial blasts.
