Whether a case can be lodged in other district

My brother-in-law resides in the village of Kendur, situated in the district of Purba Bardhaman, West Bengal under Khandaghosh P. S. One of the neighbours always calls their names and even threats with dire consequences to my brother-in-law's family members. What can be done in this regards? Whether a case can be lodged in any court in Kolkata?

Hello,

Your brother in law can approach local police station and file complaint against his neighbour for threats with dire consequences. However, I will advise you to settle the issue between neighbour and brother in law by amicable discussion.

No,you can not lodge FIR or File complaint at kolkata.FIR ,or any criminal complaint can only be filed at the place where offence occurs.your brother has to lodge FIR at p.s purba Bardhaman.
