What is the process to convert once religion legally?

Your question is very good but the procedure differs from state to state. It is in orissa we have got Freedom of religion Act . As per this act the person who wants to change his religion he has to applly to the District Collector in a  prescribed application, filling the  details after the prescribed period he will call the person and conduct a summury enquiry and after that  allow him to accept convert the religion. The same procedure is avilble in chatisgarh.
