The article 370 of Indian constitution had 'temporary provision with respect to jammu and Kashmir ' which gave special power to the state allowing it to have its own constitution .however ,it granted the central government author over matters of external affairs defence and communication of the state. unlike other states the centre did not have the power to alter the boundaries of the state ...article 35A of Indian constitution which stemmed out of article 370 ,gave powers to the state assembly to define permanent resident of the state ,their specialrights and privileges .it also stated that non permanent resident could not aquire immovable property in jammu and Kashmir or apply and get government employment, scholarship and other aid provided by the state government..

It Was said by Pt Nehru when Kashmir want to live freely or they want to live seperate from India & Pakistan, then the article 370 should be abolished, but why they abolished it?

Siva Prasad   05 March 2020

Read Article 370 properly... no such thing as claimed by you is in the constitution. Government acts on the basis of constitution , not on the basis of what Pt Nehru said or Gandhi said before 50 years. That will be treated as their opinion, not of the constitution.

siva ji its also written in the constiutuion that no one can remove anything from the constituion so why they removed Article 370?? is'nt it unconstiutional??

Showkat Lone   02 May 2020

Isn't it unconstitutional to abolish this article without consent from the elected state assembly which they deliberately diluted to do this. It seems Democracy ki Dajiya Uda di gayi...
