Value of family settlement made on a plain paper

Does a family settlement made on a plain paper among 4 out of total 7 members of a family, with signatures of 4 family members and those of the extended family as witnesses hold any worth in a court of law?

ie. Is such a document admissible in court
in case any of the family members does not honour the settlement?

Dear Surender,

If the kartha had effected this family arrangement, wherein undivided property was equally divided among all the coparcenors , it may be admissable or else it carries no significance.

Dear Surender,

Family settlement made on a plain paper is not admissibile for want of registration.  When a family settlement is put into writing, it should be compulsorily registered for admission in evidence.

I agree with Sridhar Pasumarthy
