Validity of oath

What is the value of statements  of a Chistian witness taking oath in the Court on quran or a Hindu taking Oath on Bible?

Finally the statement before the court is the statement considered as true and correct at that time. The normal practice is just to say  ‘I swear on the name of god that what I say is the truth and nothing but the truth.’
