hello,
I had applied for a passport wherein I changed my name with all the relevant documents (i.e a notary affidavit, and advertisements in newspapers) and received my passport with the changed name. What I would like to know is whether my passport can be considered as proof of my changed name in the future,or is a gazette notification mandatory? Also if a gazette notification is required,will a copy of the passport suffice?( in place of the mandatory documents specified in the official regulations of the gazette notifications ).
