MY CASE is on the stage if filing chief of petittioner. i want some documents from the respondent financial in nature. Can i ask court to ask the respondent to produce the same. i am wife and one of the issuee framed is maintainnence.

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses an urgent filing situation where a wife needs to obtain financial documents from the respondent for a maintenance claim. The consensus is that the court can be asked to order the respondent to produce relevant documents. It's advised to consult with your lawyer, as this is a routine procedure they can handle.

Your lawyer may issue a notice under Order XII Rule 8 read with section 151 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.

Did you seek advise of your lawyer on the issue ?

This is not an extraordinary situation but a routine activity.

You can confide in your advocate who will take care of such issues properly.

Yes, the documents, if relelevant, could be summoned through the Court.
