Hi Friends,

In our company internal union is formed by workers, office bearer of union is also on the body of co-operative society run by employee of the company.

My question is that "can office bearer of union undertake two position at similar time i.e. (on the union committee and on co-operative society of employee.

Why not? There is no prohibition in any law.

Dear Nidhi,

As rightly pointed by Mr. Menon, there is no prohibition under the law, but care should be taken, that there is no monetary benefits attached to such post, beacuse, either way working for a co-oprtaive society as well as the Company creates dual employment, which normally a Company would not like.

Thanks,

Ashish

There is nothing wrong  if there is no bar in the bye-laws of the Union as well as the Cooperative society.
