167 of CrPC gives the provision for the transit remand. First the person is arrested and presented before the nearest magistrate with or without jurisdiction. Then the magistrate will grant the policemen the transit remand by the virtue of which, the police men may keep the accused detained through the transit from the place of arrest to the court of jurisdiction.
