Hi,
there is no difference between dowry and streedhan. consider same as Gift and Bribe. If other party is OK its Streedhan else within moment it change to Dowry.

agree with victim.Streedhan and dowry are interchangeable in the 498 world..
TEP - If I say that i have given you 10 lakhs at certain point of time.You challenge ,trying to prove that neither my income or my financial status could have afforded me to provide the alleged sum.

No 498A Victim sir, Sreedhan is legal dowry is illegal.
