stamp duty on gift

hello
what is the rate of stamp duty in case of gift of immovable property in blood relation in Maharashtra?

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the stamp duty applicable to gifted immovable property in Maharashtra, particularly concerning blood relations. While certain close relationships like spouse-to-spouse or parent-to-child benefit from a nominal Rs 200 stamp duty, other blood relations may incur a 3% stamp duty in Mumbai and 1% plus additional duty in the rest of Maharashtra. It's advised to consult a local expert for specific cases.

Consult sub-registrar / document writer or a local lawyer if you can not search on google.

At present there are five categories for Rs 200/- stamp duty, Husband to wife and vice versa, Parents to children, and Grand parents to grand son, and to deceased son's daughter in law. For all other blood relations you will have to pay stamp duty of 3% on Gift Deed in Mumbai, and rest of Maharashtra there is 1% added duty depending upon municipal corporation.
