Society maintaining funds

Can a co-operative housing society use montly maintainance money collected from the society members to fight a legal case against a society member or do the housing society members will have to collect seprate funds amongst themselves to fight a legal case against that one member of the society

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether a housing society can use its regular maintenance funds to pursue legal action against a specific member. While the society can utilise surplus funds from monthly collections, it cannot tap into long-term investments for such purposes. Members can also vote to raise separate funds specifically for legal disputes involving individual members.

That is to be decided by the members of society.

Hello,

Society can use the balance amount left out of a monthly collection from members. However, society cannot use long term investment made by society for fighting legal cases. Further society can decide to collect separate funds from members for fighting legal cases filed by one of the members.
