Sir/ma'am,

I would like know " can a person own two flats with two different joint membership , in the same co-operative housing society ? Is there any rule or law that prohibits a person to own two flats in joint membership in a co-operative housing society.

Quick Summary
This discussion explores whether an individual can hold joint membership for two separate flats within the same co-operative housing society. While some states may not have explicit prohibitions, it's noted that the Delhi Cooperative Societies Act and Rules specifically disallow multiple memberships. For definitive local guidance, filing an RTI application with the society is recommended.

There is no such law.  If you want an authentic record for your future reference and to have confirmation file RTI Application to Society and seek such information and it costs Rs.10/- as RTI fee.

Where (which state) is the property )flats) and society located as Cooperative Societies are governed by State laws.

However, Delhi Cooperative Societies Act, and Rules prohibit two memberships in a (or any other) societies.
