Sharing content of a book on blogging website

I'm operating a blogging website and a facebook page on share market related matters. I want to share some of extracts of book by a famous author on my blogging website just for informational use only. I will share the name of the author along with the reference of book. So, is there any default relating to copyrights issue.

Its encouraging to see that you are prepared to act in the right spirit in an honest manner, when you could have plagiarized from the book and probably got away with it. A few questions to help me in answering your query:

  1. Are you monetising your blog?
  2. What proportion of your blog content (a rough percent) would be purely the book excerpt?
  3. How far are you going to add to and develop the ideas expressed in the copyrighted book?
  4. Does the book publisher expressly provide any contact information for readers intending to reproduce from the book? (not usual, but some authors do give such information).
