Seeking professional advice relating house inheritance

Hello, by all means I'm not a lawyer nor I work with relation to law. I'll be short. My grandfather has passed away over 10 years ago, he didnt leave final testimony in relation with the house. But my dad stayed at the house and maintaned it for that time payed all expenses taxes etc. (whatever house and property maintainence is). Now when he moved from the house after all this time everyone in the family wants the piece of this house (property) is this illegal? After what time maintaining of the property it belongs to you? is it possible? please for a promt reply it is important.

If the house was your grand father's self acquired property, it will devolve equally on all the legal heirs. His widow, mother, son(s), daughter(s) would succeed to the property in equal shares.

Maintaining a property does not create a title in the property. The title of the property shall move from your grandfather to all the legal heirs as per Hindu Succession Act.
