School Records

For how long School records are preserved in India such as the documents which are submitted at the time of admission like Birth Certificate, Address proof, transfer certificate, etc ?

Can anyone please enlighten.

They are maintained as per the retention schedule as per my knowledge. If it's a Govt.school you can get the copies of the same under RTI Act.

Under RTI Act we can't get the particulars as per my knowledge because of the privacy.

What are normal retention schedule for schools India ? since keeping each and every document for years would be monumental task.

Please enlighten by confirming it from any teacher or Principal friend of yours.

I would be really grateful for your response. Hope anyone confirm and will let me know. Highly obliged.
