Sale deed year difference in between registration and execution

Dear Sir / Madam,

My friend grand father has registered the land of 1 acre in the year 2002 (dt. 13.03.2002) with respective registration number.  However, sale deed document (bond paper) was executed on 13.03.1997 with above above registration (Registration no.XXXX, dated 13.03.2002).  Please see below details and confirm whether this document is valid or not.

Bond Paper issued on : 11.03.2002

Sale Deed Registration no and date : XXXXX / 2002, dated 11.03.2002

Sale Executed on 13.03.1997 (this date and year mentioned on the sale deed document)

Sub-Registrar signed on : 13.03.2002.

A sale deed when executed, should be registered within four months from the date of execution.

It will be invalid if registered beyond the stipulated time period.

How can the sale deed be executed before purchase of Stamp Papers for registration of the document with SR ?

Probably (which I may guess) the Sale deed referred (stated to have been registered on 13.3.1997) is "Agreement to Sell" recheck.

That is a valid document, since the document is registered in 2002 and the bond papers issued in same date, there is no infirmity, however the doccument execution seems back dated, that can even be an error not illegality.
