IMPLEMENTATION OF RIT ACT IN  GOVERMENT DEPARTMENTS

RTI ACT HAS CAME INTO EXISTANCE IN 2005 , AS PER SECTION 4 (1) A OF THE ACT , ALL THE PUBLIC OFFICES SHALL CATELOGUE AND INDEX THEIR RECORDS

As per Section 4 (1 ) B of the act all the govt departments shall publish thier office partculars in 17 templates prescribed by the act

Both section 4 ( 1) a & 4 ( b) data should be put on their web site  , But majoirty of the of the departments have not taken up the above task ,

Many of RTI activists have filed complaints with CIC/SICs for non-compliance of these sections by many public authorities.

RTI Act is the most powerful wepon in the hands of common man. It empowers the citizen to the extend of a state legislature or of parliament. If any organisation is not complying the provisions you can definitly take action.
