The police are bound to arrest. If their involvement is provided by an independent witness, forensic evidence and CCTV footage by Police, they accomplice have to be booked as accused. It all depends on facts and evidence and through an alibi there may be an opportunity to save them. But if evidence/witness are against the accomplice, it is impossible to save them. The punishment has to be decided by the competent judge on facts and the extent of constructive involvement of the accomplice in the crime.
