Related to gst

Hello,

My query is do both Bill to and Ship to addresses need to be registered if they belong to a single registered owner. In my case, the Bill to address is registered but my Ship-to address is not, and while the transportation of the goods the officials have seized them on this basis, can they do so if yes what should I do?

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies GST registration requirements for different 'Bill To' and 'Ship To' addresses. If your 'Ship To' address is not registered and differs from your 'Bill To' address, it may need to be declared as an additional place of business under GST law. The original poster faced goods seizure due to an unregistered 'Ship To' address, and advice suggests this could be a valid reason for officials to act.

if shipping address is different and not registered then you should show that as additional place of business.
