registered will need a probate?

I have got a registered will. should I need a probate from the court? I'm from madras. my advocate says according to hindu succession act jurisdiction under madras high court probate is compulsory. plz clarify

Quick Summary
If you have a registered will and are based in Chennai (formerly Madras), you will likely need to obtain probate from the court. An advocate has clarified that under the Hindu Succession Act and the jurisdiction of the Madras High Court, probate is compulsory for both registered and unregistered wills in presidency towns like Chennai, Mumbai, and Kolkata.
