Query about witness

Dear Legal Team,

Is it compulsory to produce witness in favour of defendant or only defendant is enough along with documents in civil suits ? Pls advice.

It is not compulsory, it is an opportunity to the defendent. Defendent can call witness or produce doucments at the stage of Defence Evidence or both.

Does it mean only documents have to be produced during evidence and no need to worry about witness right ?

Yes. At the stage of defence witness / defence evidence you can produce your documents.

There is no any limitation in law to produce any number of witness. It dependes on the facts of the case. In given case one defendant itself may be sufficient. While in another case many witnesses may be required to be summoned.
