I am planning to buy a original DVD / CD of a movie from a shop. The members of my club can borrow the movie and watch it on the club's public player/TV. I am planning to collect a nominal amount from each member who is viewing the movie. Will this be a violation ??

Thanks

The Movie/CD purchased by you is meant exclusively for your private use and any public display of it will amount to violation under the IPR laws.

Most of these movies are purchased by copyright societies. You need to get a license from them for public distribution

you can exploit the same for your monetary gain. it amounts to infringement of copyright. the affeceted party can procecute you for the same under civil and criminal law.
