Professional ethics

Hi,

Can someone here tell me-

when some new clients walk upto you bringing a new criminal case, after accepting his fee, what is the first thing you do?

Contact a constable, CI, SI from your circles to check out if you can fight this case or steal the fee from the client?

How do you start your investigation?

I am experiencing and hearing from others about notoriety and black mail from some lawyers.

Why does a lawyer a need police contacts? Why should a police officer have a lawyers or political contacts?

There should be an anti corruption bureau on this and a probe from CBI to check education credentials etc.

Did you anytime see a doctor contact a police officer, politicians, lawyers to give treatment?

Quick Summary
This discussion delves into the professional ethics lawyers must uphold when taking on new criminal cases. It questions the practice of lawyers relying on police or political contacts and explores the ethical boundaries regarding client confidentiality. The conversation touches upon the need for integrity and suggests that a lawyer's specialization should guide their actions, with one perspective highlighting the option of legal consulting over direct legal support to maintain ethical standards.

This is good enough information to know there is a provision for everything. In the end, I am also a mundane citizen who doesn’t want to take the dirt into my hands to clean up the society. But things will go as per the moral laws.
