your query is not clear however I understood that you are asking about the Uniform outfit allowance paid by the employer to employee.  In general the organizations will provide uniforms to their employees free of cost but in Security services the continuation of Security personal in the same organization is very minimal hence the employer will ask the Security personal to get the uniforms on their own and reimburse the amount on monthly basis ( total cost / 12 months).  In some cases the Security Contractors will provide the uniform at the time of joining by collecting the equal amount from the security personal and reimburse on monthly basis so that the money is protected.

Washing allowance is difference from the above

dear sir,

i am asking that we have employed a private security agency in our bank during the contract it was specifically put in the agreement that the contractor will provide  two pairs of  uniform to its guards at his own cost.

in the Agreement  we have  also agreed to give Uniform outfit allowance @ 5% of basic + VDA and Washing allowance @ 3% of Basic + VDA  to the guards deployed in our bank , now the contractor is saying that since he has provided free uniform he will not give the uniform outfit allowance to the guards employed which he is claiming from us.

dear mr singh,

If you are covered by the Maharashtra Private security guards act or any such similar legislation, you have to pay the wages of the security guard which are fixed by the guard board and they cannot be less than that amount.  The basic components include basic, DA, HRA , washing allowance, conveyance  etc.  So, if you are following this statutory wage, then outfit allowance is not mandatory.

You may first bring all guards together with both pair of uniforms and check if each guard has 2 pairs or not! Then you must ask the contractor to follow the terms of the contract that it has signed with the bank. If there is a clause of proper and prescribed uniform then it has to be given without any cost in advance.Although the limit at market rates can be fixed.
