Presentation to the co

In a matter of a scuffle between two trade persons, one filed an FIR.
Now the police seemingly has been taken in confidence and has been calling the complainant for a presentation to the CO of the area.

Is it okay to go? Or We should ask them to give us a 41 A notice, if that is applicable to a complainant. Why would the police ask us to go talk to the CO and give statements to the CO? Shouldn't the IO just get to his job and start the investigation into the offence and prepare a chargesheet? Any practical tips for such a situation?

The complainant should co-operate with the IO for investigation because the IO cannot proceed without recording the statement of the complainant and other witnesses.

But Sir it is not the IO, but the CO who is calling up in a threatening way.
IO is the one to investigate and we should cooperate, but under the law, is it manadatory that I go to the CO even when it is a case  attracting less than 7 years of punishment and no 41 A has been given?
