Physically handicapped group a govt employees transferred to a remote location upon promotion

Hi, My mother is physically handicapped and is employed with the Karnataka state government. She has now been promoted to Group A and is transferred to a remote location 500kms away. I am her primary caregiver and the only surviving family member. There are several openings within Bangalore but they haven't given that posting. There is one in the very same office but has probably been sold out. Please help! What are the next steps I can take ?

Congratulatioins to your mother for being promoted to Group "A" officer in state government service.

After promotion responsibility and accountability of the officer multiply and has to be posted through out the State, where ever there is requirement and vacancy.

She was appointed in physically handicapped quota, which she had accepted, you will agree. Accordingly, she will have to serve as where ever required, which  cannot be considered as per her/ your choice and convenience.

She can make a request to transfer to her place of choice after taking charge of the new assignment.

Your mother, on promotion to a higher post, has to be transferred where there are vacancies.  Your mother may request orally, and it may be considered if possible.
