Personal tour during official journey

whether any employee during his onward journey(official tour ) go to another destination and then reaches to the actual destination (long route ) , while return journey reaches straight to the source(short route) . whether the onward journey ticket fare can be limited to the shortest route fare for reimbursement?

The journey from the starting point to destination and back to the starting point will be limited to the route normal fare paying passengers would take. If during official tour time was taken for personal purpose, permission for leave of absence from competent authority may be requied and daily allownace for the period of absence may not be given.

(a) The leave travel concession to hometown shall be admissible irrespective of the distance between the headquarters of the Government servant and his hometown, once in a block of two calendar years. (b) The leave travel concession to any place in India shall be admissible irrespective of the distance of the place of visit from the headquarters of the Government servant, once in a block of four calendar years. Provided that in the case of a Government servant to whom leave travel concession to hometown is admissible, the leave travel concession to any place in India availed of by him shall be in lieu of, and adjusted against, the leave travel concession to hometown available to him at the time of commencement of the journey;
